Potatöhead Remember Me Now... Potatöhead Alright!

OK, the Mr Potato Head I got for Christmas growing up, never looked this cool. This killer creation was crafted by a man many have dubbed the master of all Potato Heads, artist Jason D. Johnson.

Yep, it's none other than Motörhead lead singer, bass player and front man Lemmy Kilmister in all his potato head glory! 

Are you kidding me. Johnson didn't miss a feature and included Kilmister's tattoos, friendly mutton chops mustache, his moles and of course the world renowned Lemmy salute.

This figurine would be the pièce de résistance to any Motörheadbanger's collection, but it's not for sale. Johnson's one-of-a-kind Ace of Spuds, is already spoken for.

Jason is giving the Mr Lemmy Potatöhead to this guy, comic book artist Greg Capullo. The guy who draws Batman and Spawn (just to name a few of his accomplishment).

Tonight's Motörhead Show in Denver is Cancelled ♠

Motörhead will not be performing at tonight's 02/28/2012 Gigantour show in Denver, CO.

Lemmy has lost his voice, and has decided to take the night off.

According to management, the last 3 shows of the tour will go on as scheduled.

The other bands on the Gigantour bill will perform this evening as scheduled.

Lemmy has a killer recipe called 'Krakatoa Surprise' in Steve Seabury’s hit cookbook Mosh Potatoes.

Seabury, an author and bassist with Moth Eater, has collected a number of recipes ranging from appetizers to entrees from some big time musicians.

This is a quote from Seabury in a recent interview with Roadrunner Records Blog: "The one recipe that I haven't tried yet and I am very scared to cook is a recipe called 'Krakatoa Surprise' from Lemmy. I would love to have someone send me photos of them making this one. It's insane!"

Oh, in case you were wondering here's Lemmy's recipe for 'Krakatoa Surprise'.

¼ pound flour
½ pound chocolate syrup
¼ pound refried beans
 ½ pound curry powder
1 bottle strawberry syrup
¼ bottle brandy
Mix flour, syrup, beans and curry powder into a model of Krakatoa Island. Pour strawberry syrup over it to simulate lava. Pour brandy over all. Strike a match. Eat while still burning.

Lemmy - 'Ace of Spades' Voice Track

You may have already heard this but a good buddy sent it to me to remind me, just how much I löve Motörhead!

This is the original voice track for the song the 'Ace of Spades'.

What amazes me is the fact Lemmy did in one take! Just have a listen and take note of the intensity in his voice. His timing and the way he hits his notes (albeit with a raspy hellion furry). It's full bore, guns-a-blazing, take no prisoners Lemmy... right to the end of the track!

Lemmy In The News

Finally, some news worth posting regarding 'Lemmy: The Movie' featuring our hero, Motörhead bassist-vocalist Lemmy Kilmister.

The feature-length documentary will premiere in the U.K. at the London Film Festival 10/23/2010. Ya, but that's been in the papers for weeks now.

Here's what I'm talkin' about. For those Motörhead fans unfortunate enough to live on this side of the pond, and who won't be able to make the trip to jolly ol' England, the doc will be released on DVD 01/24/2011.

I can't wait. As I've documented in past posts, the film, directed by Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski, features Q&A's with Metallica, Mick Jones, Dave Grohl, Ozzy, and Slash just to name a few.

As you may well know, 2010 marks the 35th anniversary of the birth of Motörhead... and the snaggletöothed wonder himself is turning 65 years old.

Holy $hit. The man still smokes 2-packs of Marlboro's and drinks a bottle of Jack Daniel's a day. While some may refer to him as 51% Mother F#cker and 49% $on of a bitch.... I'd say, he's 100% GOD!

Lemmy and Bart Simpson

Halloween is fast approaching and what better way to celebrate then another edition of the annual Simpsons Halloween special! But this edition is very, VERY special!

Lemmy Kilmister and Bart come together in The Simpson's 'Tree House of Horror' comic book published by Bongo Comics.

While many thought last years Halloween special was a classic,

this year's book (marks the fifteenth straight year that Bongo has published a special edition) boasts Motörhead's front man in a unique story written specifically with the Snaggletöohed hellion in mind.

Issue #16 features Lemmy in the story "Homer Goes To Hell". Lemmy battles the forces from the dark side! One of the best lines from Lemmy in the comic: "Bart means beer in German, the World is Yours." F#ckin' killer!

Oh, one last pic for ya. I found this little Homer/Lemmy gem on the triple W and couldn't resist lifting it to post in these sored pages. I definitely like the Bongo version of Lem better.

Head Cat Rocks Chico

Lemmy and the Head Cats are tearin' it up on their, albeit limited, US dates.

The Head Cat consists of: Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead, Slim Jim Phantom from Stray Cats, Danny B. Harvey from Rockats.

There most recent tour stop was at El Rey theatre in California.

Tyler Ash of the Orion, sat down with Lemmy for a Q&A about his involvement with Head Cat. Here's a line from the article that I just couldn't resist posting.

Although Lemmy's not too fond of the video game itself, he was also in 'Guitar Hero: Metallica'.

"It's pretty sad really," he said. "Why don't you learn to play a real guitar? I mean, no chicks are gonna suck your dick for a fuckin' little plastic guitar - that's not how it works."

To be in the presence of Lemmy is to be in the presence of the most humble metal god that has ever rocked your face off. But you would never know it just sitting with him watching a cop chase show while setting up for this interview.
Chuck sat him down to talk about his upcoming documentary "Lemmy: The Movie" that was premiering that night at SXSW 2010. Not only did Lemmy open up about being embarrassed by the attention but also gave us stories and true words of wisdom. Yes Lemmy, you are God. And you rocked our balls off at the Stubb's show the next day, we have footage to prove it. Chuck also had a chance to talk to co-director/producer Wes Orshoski who gave us the low down on the movie from a director/fan's point of view. Lucky bastard!

Slash & Lemmy Bounce Beiber

Ha... I'm lovin' it! We Canuckleheads know how to rock!

The 16-year old pop sensation Justin Bieber, was rocked out of the No. 1 spot on the Great White North's album charts by a one of our resident guitar hero's Slash.

Slash's debut solo CD stormed the charts at No. 1 with 14,000 in sales.

Those numbers helped Slash bump Bieber's "My World 2.0" to second spot, according to data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. Second place huh? And you can still get Katie Perry to pucker up... hey, at least he's Canadian.

Slash's album features guest vocals by Ozzy, Soundgarden's Chris Cornell, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, Lemmy, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Kid Rock and Fergie.

Oh... but we aren't the only ones lovin' this CD. Acording to WordPunk.com, Slash's new album/CD took over top spot on iTunes in early Aril.

Lemmy, Slash & Dave "Golden Gods"

The second Annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards were held at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA 04/08/2010.

As you may know, (refer to my post: Golden Gods) Lemmy was awarded with a lifetime achievement award.

I have no idea who the Amazon woman is with the Snaggletoothed wonder on the black carpet, but she's smokin'!

Dave Grohl, Slash and Lemmy took to the stage to perform Motörhead's classic 'Ace of Spades'.

There were also performances by Rob Zombie, Fear Factory, As I Lay Dying, The Devil Wears Prada, Brian Posehn's All Star Band Featuring Scott Ian, Brendon Small, John Tempesta & Joey Vera, Zakk Wylde and many more.

This snap of Zakk Wylde made me think... wow, he did everything he could (aside from flashing) to not get photographed, but the media published it anyway. Oh right I forgot where the event was being held... in LA LA land, where anything goes. LA Weekly posted a ton of pictures from the black carpet.

The Home of Metal officially launched it's digital on-line archives website at the South X Southwest 2010 film festival.

Don't know what HOM is all about, here's a snippet & clip from their site:

Home of Metal is a celebration of the music that was created in the West Midlands, its legacy and influence across the world. Bringing people together to share their passion for the music by creating a digital archive, heritage tours, exhibitions and ultimately a permanent collection dedicated to telling the story of Metal and its unique birthplace.

So if you wanted to launch a website or hell, anything else even closely related to Metal for that matter, who would you bring in to hype the kick-off... ya, it's gotta' be Lemmy!
