Kick Start My Heart

.
Saw this Motörhead and thought... hm, that's one guy who loves drag racing!
.
.
Drag racing season kicked off with the 50th Anniversary Kragen O'Reilly NHRA Winternationals presented by Valvoline.

That pic epitomizes the sports... raw, unabashed horse power! The race was held at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona 02/14/2010.

.
Frick... these guys mean business.
.
.
NHRA's winningest driver, John Force (seen here with his daughter Ashley), got back into the winner's circle after a 20-month drought.
.

.
Force was joined by Larry Dixon (Funny Car) and Mike Edwards (Pro Stock) in collecting season-opening wins.
.
.
Here are the final speeds in the Top Fuel Series.

FTW Short Track Racing

Here's a great video from the boys over at
FTWCO Racing.

FTWCO are sponsoring a number of riders this year in a number of different events and disciplines.

One of the styles they sponsor is flat track racing. It has to be on of the coolest forms of racing out there. Go fast & turn left!

These video highlights are from the first race FTWCO's riders were in this season. It was shot at the indoor short track, held at South Port Casino in Las Vegas. The FTW rider has a camera on his helmet and there's gotta be at least 3 more cameras around the track. It's wicked.

And don't blink, you may see Chopper Dave in the stands.
.

.
The boys also put of some killer merch.
.

Everything from decals to T-shirts, and the prices ain't bad either.
.

.
C'mon, that shirt is kick ass!!!

Jalopy Dust Up

If you're ever in New Zealand, this is one wicked hot rod festival you may want to check out.

It's called the Jalopy Dust Up and is held at Waihi Beach, NZ.

All pics are from Spooky21.

.
This is one bad a$$ hot rod. Not sure of the make or model... but it's wicked as hell!
.

According to Spooky21, this is the second time they've held this event. No facilities, no rules, no trouble, a bar and lots of cool cars.
.
.
Before...
.

... after. Ya that sucks, but the guy was OK and by the sounds of it they'll all be back next year.

Dakar Stage 10

From 110 motorcycles at the start of the race, down to 93 riders in stage 10. Yes, not surprising and also no surprise to see that the reigning champ, KTM rider Marc Coma, set the fastest time over the 148-mile special. He finished 2:06 ahead of Yamaha’s David Fretigne.
