Holy Snaefell-upagus Big Bird

This is one wild bike & side car. That's right, it's a motorcycle wrapped around a side car, or is it a side car wrapped around a bike.

It's called the Snaefell.

This is the guy who built it, Francois Knorreck. He's a technician in a hospital in France and worked on the project in his shop over that last ten years. He finished it this summer.

The vehicle is based around a Laverda 1000 motorcycle.

If you're a details kinda guy and need all the info on the Snafell project, check out breganzan.com. The site describes how he built this wicked cool machine and the parts he used as well.

The brakes and hubs are from a VW Golf.

Most of the bodywork, as expected, is carbon fiber. The chassis is all aluminum.

The headlights and blinkers came from a BMW & Renault. The tail lights are from Citroen Xantia.

Sweet. Tell me that wouldn't be a blast to rip around on, or in!

While Big Birds invisible friend, Mr. Snuffleupagus and the Snaefell have similar names Bird's friend is a massive, hairy, lumbering beast.

The Snaefell is anything but! The one thing they do have in common... no one can take their eyes off the either spectacle when it's out and about.
